Now I'm not the coupon-clipping kind of person, but when I run into a deal that's so relevant to me, I just simply can't resist it. A lot of you're like that too. And guess what? A lot of you check your email more frequently than your real mailboxes.

Which is where email marketing campaigns come in. Forget spam. Spam's just the phoney million-dollar offer, and email marketing is miles away from that. Email marketing is reaching the right customers, with the right offers.

Let's go back to that promotion you were given from your favorite restaurant, and let's consider it from the restaurant's perspective. In the event you clip that promotion and come into the restaurant, their direct marketing initiatives were profitable.

Yet, to get that coupon into your hands, the restaurant had to pay for printing, actually buy and stuff envelopes, address them to you and next pay for postage.
